The rapid spread of computers and information technology has fueled explosive growth in demand for qualified workers to design, develop, manage and maintain hardware and software systems. Network administrators design, install and support LAN, WAN, network segment, Internet and intranet systems. They maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure its availability to users. Administrators also may plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures and implement organizational information security. Web developers are responsible for day-to-day site design and creation. The proliferation of computer specialty occupations reflects the growing emphasis on client-server applications, the continued growth of the Internet and related applications and the demand for more end-user support.
Training in Information Technology can lead to such positions as:
Network Administrator Data Warehouse Specialist
Web Developer Database Administrator
Web Administrator Programming Analyst
