    construction and home improvement questions. Older columns are
    available on a wide range of topics.
  • BuildingOnline
    A building industry search engine. Allows you to limit your
    searches to particular categories that cover over 200,000
    construction-related web sites.
  • Construction WebLinks
    Maintained by the law firm of Thelen Reid Brown Raysman &
    Steiner LLP for the construction industry. Links to a
    wide range of construction-related sites. The site focuses on building codes,
    regulations and state agencies.
  • National Association of the Remodeling Industry
    Links to a wide range of topics centered around remodeling.

    This site has links to information for consumers, roofing
    contractors, related industry links, and the association's journal

    An online book that was created as an outgrowth of the City of
    Austin, Texas's Green Builder Program. Information can be found on
    everything from rainwater collection to nonpolluting paints and carpets.

  • First Source Codes Database
    Contains a database of building codes from around
    the country, as well as a cost-estimating database.
    This site requires a free registration in order to use these resources.
  • WoodBin: Woodworking Software Central
    In addition to describing a variety of woodworking software,
    this site also provides links to web-based calculators for bills
    of materials, figuring board-feet and choosing the right wood for your project.
  • Concrete Calculators
    Online calculators for figuring out the amount of concrete
