If you enjoy working with your hands, being outside,installing new systems, and solving problems, then a career in the energy industry may appeal to you. Students can earn an Associate in Applied Science in Energy Technologies degree and/or a certificate in one or more specialized, but related areas. The multiple options for certificates within the degree are associated with different energy careers, allowing students to match their strengths and interests with an appropriate plan of study. Career Opportunities
Work for utility companies as an entry-level utility apprentice, groundperson, transformer/relay technician, utility line technician, outside plant technician, smart grid technician, or assistant controls system technician. Work for utility or tele-communications companies as a fiber optic technician, network communications technician, or voice and data wiring installer technician. Our program can also prepare you to be a residential energy auditor, energy manager, and solar/photovoltaic installer.
