My role at Gateway: I am the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
How long I’ve worked here: I am new to Gateway, June 2010Where I’m from: Wisconsin
Why I do what I do: My first degree was going to be in accounting. I realized after I was a residence hall director that I enjoyed the educational environment and transitioned into college personnel. I like to see people achieve their dreams and grow and develop as people. I believe in community colleges because they reflect the communities where they are located. Community colleges are excellent at providing the employment and training needs for the area.My philosophy: Treat others the way you expect to be treated. It may sound simple, but not many people practice it. It’s a simplistic concept and it works. A little more about me: I am an avid reader. I read everything from mysteries, to political novels to work-related journals. My husband is an outdoors person and loves hunting and fishing. We like to go fishing together, and sometimes I can fit in some reading while he’s fishing. We love to travel and go on adventures. I listen to classical music and also especially like Ottmar Liebert who composes, performs and records music in a nouveau flamenco style.
