My role at Gateway: I am an Instructor of Psychology and the Division Chair for the Arts, Humanities and Social Science. How long I’ve worked here: I am in my second year at Gateway. My hometown: New York City. Why I do what I do: I love teaching. Working with the students at Gateway is fascinating and rewarding. It’s such a pleasure to watch students gain momentum toward their career goals, and confidence in their own abilities. My philosophy: I believe in teaching to help students gain perspective, to view life through a different lens and reflect on all the variety in this world. I like our students because: I admire their energy and perseverance. So many students are balancing work, family and school. It’s always wonderful to witness a student excel, but even better when I know there were obstacles overcome along the way. A little more about me: I love to read. It is hard for me to pick a favorite book. I have at least 1,000 favorite books! I also like to write fiction and watch foreign films.
