My role at Gateway: I work as a Spanish instructor teaching face to face and online classes. We started developing the program last year and I am glad to see that it is expanding. How long I’ve worked here: I have been here for a little over a year now. Where I’m from: We moved to Northern Kentucky from Indiana. Why I do what I do: I truly enjoy teaching languages and also to see how excited my students get when they realize that they can speak a foreign language. I love working at Gateway because it is a place where our students have the opportunity to enhance their education and become citizens of the world. My philosophy: with a little bit of motivation, one can overcome his fears. We are often discouraged and that can get in the way of accomplishing our goals. I like our students because: our students are motivated and actively participate in their learning process. I truly enjoy the interactions we all have through the Spanish club, field trips and the Spanish night. This is something that does not happen in all community colleges and that sets our students apart. A little more about me: I fell in love with Don Quijote by Cervantes. Even though it is a very old book, it still speaks volumes about our society. I love traveling and learning about new cultures.
