Business and Industry Services is committed to improving the employability and quality of life of the
citizens of our region by serving as the preferred provider of workforce training, assessment, and
community education to meet the needs of our customers.

Outcome Statements
- BIS is the preferred provider of workforce training and community education in the region.
- BIS identifies and contacts area business and industry on a regular basis by supplying them with a
description and schedule of BIS offerings and assessing their training needs as well as performing follow
up evaluations on the customized training provided.
- Area business & industry use Work Keys to profile job skills, assess employee skill levels, and provide
training to fill the gaps.
- Area business & industry, and the community, use the Assessment Center for job skill and personal
development assessment, and professional certification testing.
- Persons requiring continuing education to maintain professional licenses receive required CEU training
provided by BIS.
- Community members who might not have otherwise considered post-secondary education, are offered
affordable courses in their own communities among their peers.
